HISTORY
The Official School of Languages was founded in 1970; the Department of German was created the same year.

There are 17 groups, divided into two levels, namely:

COURSE ORIENTATION
Teaching German is based on communication methods, focusing on the development of the following skills:
- Reading comprehension.
- Listening comprehension.
- Written expression.
- Oral expression.
- Oral interaction.
- Written interaction.
A significant proportion of our educational efforts, together with the use of books and original press and audiovisual materials supplied by the Department and the students, aim at bringing the student closer to the German, Swiss or Austrian cultures and current affairs.
ACCESS TO OTHER LEVELS
The Department carries out proficiency tests for those students who enrol for the first time, have previous knowledge of German, and wish to have direct access to second or third year within the elementary level.
